Guy Dimenstein. Berlin.

Guy is an Israeli filmmaker who has lived in Berlin since 2006. A list of awards won is not in the public record, so this page does not call him award-winning. The nomination we can name is below.

He studied film at a university in Israel. Which school, and which year, he has not published. In an interview with Isolde Hilt he describes the years after arriving: the language made filmmaking hard, he became a Berlin tour guide with his own company, COVID left him without that work, and he went back to editing to support his family. In 2021 he returned to filmmaking and started meet THE GOOD ONES and Good Things Productions.

His short comedy The Messiah (Biaat Ha Massiah, Israel, 2005) screened at the Toronto Jewish Film Festival. Striche an der Wand (2019, 7 minutes) was made for the 48 Hour Film Project Berlin and premiered at Kino Babylon. Hila Rubinstein was nominated for best actress. We Are Here (2023, 8 minutes), with Rick Minnich, was nominated for the Smiley Charity Film Awards and the Geographical Better World Video Awards. Rick filmed, co-wrote and co-directed; Guy did additional camera.

On screen he is the host of more than 110 short documentaries. Off screen he directs and edits for clients. The public client list includes the Claims Conference, Traffics, OKF, and the WashBall commercial for Kore + Friends.

He has said: “I realised that there is good everywhere. We just have a hard time seeing it sometimes and we have to connect to see it.” And: “You send a little good out and it comes back to you a little bigger.”
